We have a range of purpose designed synthetic grass surfaces for specific sport types including tennis, 5-a-side football, basketball, hockey, volleyball, etc. to suit different standards of competitive play and client budgets. We can give guidance and advice on the most appropriate surface for any particular need.

ARTIFICIAL GRASS
Artificial surfaces have been around for nearly 40 years.
In the early days the first installations were simply artificial grass or synthetic turf with fibres standing free.
In the 80’s the sand filled artificial grass was introduced and quickly became very popular, especially with coaches and the mature person, as the surface was forgiving on the joints and readily available in most weather conditions.
However, this surface does require regular maintenance to avoid the sand becoming compacted, thus causing draining problems.
Because of the above, a short pile dense carpet with a sand dressing has been developed, and is now widely considered a superior surface.
The Development of artificial grass surfaces continues, and there are many new products appearing on the market every year.
Currently there is a product called ‘Third Generation’, primarily for football which utilise longer fibres in a reduced density and filled with a mixture of sand and rubber granules, which provide some shock absorbsion. These systems allow the use of a full stud and their performance properties are very similar to natural grass.
